Welcome to the Pompo and Center School "LipSync 2008"
Santa Claus took a break from all the toy making and traveling preparations at the North Pole to come to Stow to spread cheer to the throngs of children-and parents-who came to meet him and his merry group of Stow Fire friends. Many children wondered how Santa was able to spend the entire day with us. But, little do our children know that Santa was using this day to see if our kids have been naughty or nice. Fortunately we made out quite well. He was particularly concerned, as he always is, with the cleanliness of the kids' rooms. Parents were ecstatic, although questions pertaining to listening to parents and getting along with siblings would have been eagerly welcomed.
I'm a little worried about Santa this year. I was able to see him at Robinwood Lane in the morning and then again at Maura Drive late in the day. I noticed he was a little weary by the end of the day and lost that spring in his step. I politely informed him that he had a lot of resting up to do since the world's population is ever increasing. I reminded him that in the 60s the population (and his popularity) was such that he would go out monthly to deliver toys. He then decided that because of the demand, he would have to choose just one night to deliver toys. He chose Christmas Eve as "this was the holiest night of the year," according to the classic "documentary" Santa Claus is Comin' to Town that I view practically every year.
In the early 1960s, the world population was a little over 3 billion. In 2007, it's over doubled. This means Santa has to work twice as fast now than he did back then, yet he's now 40+ years older. How is this possible? I mean he's overweight after all. I figure it's either the North Pole air or the extra ultraviolet radiation he's getting from the ozone hole. So, if you want to help Santa, keep using those chlorofluorocarbon containing products. The arrival of your kids' toys on Christmas Eve could depend on it.
